Each of our team members are carefully selected for their attention to detail, commitment to quality patient care, and genuine empathy for all patients.  All of our team members are on board with the ABC philosophy that every patient we treat is entitled to the same quality care and compassion that we would expect for ourselves or any of our own family members.  Each member of our staff is an integral part of your ultimate healthcare goals and are fully committed to serving your needs to the best of their abilities. 

Orlando Clinical Staff

Scott Saunders, CPO, LPO
​

Scott is a Florida Licensed Orthotist/Prosthetist and is certified by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics.  Scott entered the field in 1989, orginally working as a technician, and then going on to receive his Bachelors of Science Degree from Florida International University in Orthotics & Prosthetics.  After serving as a Regional Branch Manager with another O&P company, Scott founded ABC Prosthetics & Orthotics in 1998.  Scott is C-Leg Certified and has completed course studies in Myoelectrics from Otto Bock, Flex-foot from Ossur, Scoliosis from Charleston Bending Brace, Boston Brace and Spinal Technology, CAD/CAM training from Tracer, and many others.  Scott regularly attends state and national meetings which allows him to stay current with the newest technologies and breakthroughs in treatment. In his spare time, he enjoys saltwater fishing and spending time with his 4 children.

Danielle Hetmanski, CO, LO, Clinical Director

Danielle graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology, and then went on to receive her Certificate in Orthotics from Northwestern University.  She has been working in the Orthotics field since 2007, and she specializes in pediatrics and spinal cord injury. Prior to her career in O&P, Danielle worked as a Rehabilitation Trainer at the Center for Spinal Cord Injury Recovery in Michigan, but she decided she wanted to be the person who made the braces that made walking after an SCI possible. She joined the team at ABC Prosthetics & Orthotics in April 2012. In her free time, she enjoys DIY craft projects, camping, and spending time with her 4 children.

Stephanie Pedretti, CPO, LPO, Prosthetist/Orthotist

At the age of 14 Stephanie shadowed an O&P clinic and instantly fell in love with the field. From there she would shadow frequently and even worked as technician building prosthetic and orthotic devices at the University of Michigan. She got her Bachelors degree in Exercise Science from Eastern Michigan University and her Master’s degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics from Northwestern Feinberg school of medicine. She has been part of our team since doing both her orthotic and prosthetic residency’s with us. She is now specializing in our prosthetic department bringing her passion for the field and experience to our patients. Stephanie states “There is no better feeling than building a rapport with a patient and then seeing them stand and walk for the first time since amputation.” “I absolutely love this clinic and the family atmosphere we have, our staff and patients truly make this place my home”

Rebeca Rodriguez, C.Ped, L-OFA Pedorthist / Orthotic Fitter Assistant

Rebeca has been with ABC since 2010, originally in an administrative position. Because of Rebeca's strong desire to help people, she has continued her education in patient care, and in 2013 became a Florida Licensed Orthotic Fitter Assistant. She recently continued her career path by attending the Foot Solutions Academy of Pedorthics at Kennesaw State University in Georgia in 2014. She completed Pedorthic Observation and Training here at ABC before receiving her Pedorthist License from the Florida Department of Health to officially become a Florida Licensed & ABC Certified Pedorthist (C.Ped). She specializes in working with patients with extensive foot problems and concerns. In her free time, she enjoys staying at home with Taco and Charlie (her fur babies) catering to her indoor plants, listening to live music, road-trips and enjoy a nice full glass of red wine with friends and family.

Trevor Bryant, Prothesthic Resident

Trevor is currently a Florida licensed prosthetic resident at ABC. He attained his bachelor's degree in Health Sciences from the University of South Florida and subsequently graduated from the International Institute of Orthotics & Prosthetics in April of 2021 with his master's degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics. Outside of the office, Trevor enjoys painting, reading, running, camping, and hiking. A life goal of Trevor’s is to hike the entire Appalachian Trail.​

Rich Gotti, Orthotic Resident
​

Rich has joined the ABC team to continue his pursuit in becoming a board certified Orthotist Prosthetist. Rich was born and raised in Long Island, NY and received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a biology minor from Philadelphia University in 2016. His introduction to O&P was applying the engineering background into the movements of the human body while interning at a PT clinic in New York. He spent the next 4 years working as a board certified Orthotic Fitter for multiple hospitals across New York City and Long Island specializing in lower limb orthotics. In May 2021, Rich graduated with a Master’s degree from the International Institute of Orthotics and Prosthetics and is currently a resident with ABC. He is a chef at heart who enjoys live sporting events and spending time with his family.​​

Katie Lucas, CFm, Mastectomy Fitter and Patient Care Coordinator
 

Katie was born and raised here in Florida. She graduated from DeLand High School in 2009. As of this year, Katie will be going back to school to further her career in business. Katie has been a patient of Scott’s, our owner for 31 years. She was born with two birth
defects. Her leg was amputated below the knee at ten months old. She has always told Scott, she would work for him one day. Katie began working for ABC in 2015 as a Patient Care Coordinator and in 2016, she took classes to become a Mastectomy Fitter. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé Justin and her baby Kaysen.

Orlando Support Staff

Cristy Gonzalez, ​HR Specialist
​

Cristy is from Fort Lauderdale, FL and has worked in the medical field since 1980. She originally studied nursing and later completed Massage Therapy School. She worked as a Massage Therapist for 17 years until she made a career move to Practice Manager at an Orthopedic office for 7 years.  After relocating to Central Florida in 2010, she joined the team at ABC.  Cristy enjoys spending her free time with her 3 daughters and her three grandchildren.

Maria Santiago, Fabrication Manager​

​

After graduating high school in Queens, NY, Maria began her studies as a Nursing Assistant.  She relocated to Puerto Rico in 1989, and got married and started a family.  In 2001, after her husband became a Below Knee Amputee, Maria completed studies in Orthotics & Prosthetics at Universidad De Puerto Rico.  She also became certified as an Orthotic Fitter and Mastectomy Fitter.  She worked for an O&P company in Puerto Rico as both a Lead Technician and a Fitter, but decided she loved the challenges of creating and manufacturing in the field the best.  After relocating with her family to Orlando in 2007, Maria joined the team at ABC P&O and quickly became the Fabrication Manager.  Her hobbies are shopping, reading and playing games.  She spends her free time with her family, including her 2 daughters.

Elizabeth Lepin, Billing Specialist

Elizabeth is originally from Port St. John Florida where she resided with her parents. She graduated from Space Coast High school in 2013 and then when on to finish at Eastern Florida State College. At the age of 19 she became a Pharmacy Tech, which lead her to want to pursue her career in the Medical Field. She then started her career as a Patient Care Coordinator at ABC in 2017 at the Orlando office working alongside her older sister and Pedorthist Rebeca. She has now been our billing specialist for three years. She is happily married and enjoys spending time on her farm with her animals. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, traveling and reading books.​ 

Stella Garcia, Billing Specialist/ Marketing Coordinator

Stella graduated from Everest University with a A.S. degree in medical billing and coding. Stella has 12 years of experience. She has a strong skill in analyzing problems and finding solutions in a timely efficient manner. Stella has been a member of the team since 2017.  Her creativity and eye for design have allows her to create content for social media. She enjoys roller blading and spending time with friends and family.

Ashley Correa, Lead Patient Care Coordinator

Ashley was born in Brooklyn NY and raised in Bayamon , PR. She graduated from Ocoee High school in 2013 with hopes of getting into the Medical field. When her father lost his leg below the knee and began wearing a prosthesis, Ashley decided that she wanted to learn more about the O&P field. She started working for ABC in 2017 as a Patient Care Coordinator at out Orlando location and has gained the knowledge in the field that she always felt was her calling. In her free time she enjoys traveling, being a big sister and being around her family.

Alex Gurrea, Referral Coordinator

Alex is originally from Stamford, CT where she was born and grew up along side with her mother. She graduated from Stamford High school in 2014. In high school she volunteered for 3 years in the Stamford Hospital in her town. There she volunteered in different departments such as the labor & birth department and senior care facility that was associated with the hospital. There Alex started pursing a strong desire to helping people and children as she gained much love for. She attended Norwalk Community College and shortly after moved to Orlando, FL. Alex is very happy to be able to be part of the ABC team as she joined in early 2019. She is very dedicated to being a Patient Care Coordinator and providing the best service and attention to each patient that walks through the door. In her free time, Alex enjoys working out, fishing, and spending time with her furry pet and loved ones!

Jacqueline Fernandez, Patient Care Coordiator

Jacqueline is the newest to our team but she prefers to be called Jackie. She recently relocated to Central Florida from Miami. She has been working in the medical field for the last 10 years. She and her husband newly became parents. We welcomed our baby girl Catalayah into the world last year. In her free time, she enjoys making crafts, baking & spending quality time with my family. She enjoys being outdoors and loves family beach days. 

Pete Fontan, Purchasing & Inventory​ Manager

Originally from Bronx, NY, Pete graduated from Bronx Leadership Academy in 1996 and attended James Monroe College.  After working for 10 years at Bear Stearns in NY, Pete moved to Florida with his family and spent 7 years at Hope Orthopedic in the Manufacturing Department.  Joining ABC Prosthetics & Orthotics in November 2011, Pete handles all the purchasing and inventory for the company.  In his spare time, he enjoys recording music and spending time with his family.

Juan Correa, Lead Technician​​

​

Juan graduated from Luis Hernaiz Verome High School in Puerto Rico in 1988. In 1996, Juan became a Below Knee Amputee after battling Osteomyelitis.  He later took interest In the field of O&P when he realized he could build and repair his own prosthesis, and he could help other patients recover from the same issues he had.  He joined ABC P&O in 2008 as a Lead Technician in Prosthetics and Orthotics.  Juan's hobbies are fishing, working on cars & playing video games.  He enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters and Shih Tzu, Mimi.

Miriam Rowe, Bookkeeper

Miriam graduated from Rollins College in 1991 with a Bachelors Degree in Economics. Miriam has been doing bookkeeping, small business accounting, financial operations, human resources, office management, and business administration for the past 30 years. She joined the ABC team in May 2013, and in her spare time enjoys traveling, knitting, competitive silhouette rifle shooting, bike riding and spending quality time with her husband and her dog. She also supports various dog and cat rescues throughout Florida.
