Who is ABC?  We're glad you asked.

ABC Prothetics & Orthotics has made a commitment to its patients, referring physicians, rehabilitation teams, and insurance companies, to provide the highest quality care to their prosthetic and orthotic clients. Our treatment plan involves evaluation, casting or measuring, fitting, adjustments, and follow-up. Services provided include state-of-the-art, conventional, pediatric, and sport-related prosthetics and orthotics. Our offices are staffed with certified and state-licensed practitioners dedicated to serving local hospitals, nursing homes, outpatient rehabilitation centers and in-home care, as well as treating patients in one of our Patient Care Facilities. Together with the physician and the rehabilitation team, we provide as much comfort, function, and cosmetic appearance in the prosthesis or orthosis as possible.

Mission Statement

To develop a complete network between patients, physicians, rehabilitation specialists, prosthetic & orthotic professionals and the community.  This network will allow us to meet the ever-changing challenges presented in today's healthcare industry.  It will provide a unique, professional work environment for all employees, and enhance patient and staff education and quality of care, while providing state-of-the-art technology to those in need.

Our History

ABC Prosthetics & Orthotics became a reality in 1998, when practitioner/owner Scott Saunders left his position with a national prosthetic and orthotic company to pursue his own vision.  This vision involved Scott's desire to continue providing the prosthetic and orthotic services he was trained and certified to perform, while focusing on quality patient care, rather than increasing sales numbers.  In the current revenue-driven industry of healthcare, Scott found himself discouraged with the options facing patients today in need of prosthetic and orthotic services.  It was then he decided to venture out on his own, to provide the same ethical and moral standards that every patient deserves.

The first office of ABC Prosthetics & Orthotics opened in June of 1998 in downtown Orlando, Florida, and in 2006, the Winter Park office opened for business.  Today, ABC Prosthetics & Orthotics has over 20 employees and our 2 office locations service a coverage area of 8 counties, providing service to all Central Florida Hospitals.

Our Future

ABC Prosthetics & Orthotics strives to stay current on the newest breakthroughs in technology and treatment.  In 2001, we purchased the TracerCAD system which has improved accuracy of fittings, accelerated delivery time, and increased patients' comfort level.  In the years following, we've added exciting technology in prosthetics, such as the C-Leg, the Power Knee, the Rheo Knee, the Plié, the Symbionic, and the BeBionic hand, and in Orthotics with the Bioness L300 and the Walk-Aide. We've added technology that assists with patient care such as the G-Walk for gait analysis, and the Dr. Comfort Scan for 3D images of the foot.

ABC Prosthetics & Orthotics wishes to promote public awareness and education by providing resources to the community.  We participate in and/or sponsor many charity events including the Git-R-Done Foundation (Larry the Cable Guy's Hip Dysplasia Research), Karting With the Stars (Spinal Cord Injury Network), Amputee Coalition of America, Playing for Time (Breast Cancer Research), Arthritis Foundation, Champions for Children (Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children & Women), Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center, Ronald McDonald House, and many others.

It is the future goal of ABC Prosthetics & Orthotics to develop an educational center for both individuals who are in need of prosthetic and orthotic services, and for those currently in or wishing to enter the professional industry.  Continuing education and public awareness are the necessary ingredients to maintaining and strengthening the integrity and professionalism of our O&P industry.
